This time I did hear the pump attempting to lift the top and I did see the red light on solid. When the top did not come up, the red light flashed. When I turned the key to put the top down, the pump came on for a short period after which the red light went off. I repeated this procedure a few times with the same result. I disconnected the blue wire connector and simply used WD40 to lubricate all the hinges and moving parts as well as the wire connectors and as if by magic my roof now goes up and locks into place and even the flashing red light goes out Do not start the car. If your BMW has a push start, press the start button without starting the car. Look for the airbag light. The light turns on for about five seconds. Then it turns off. If your BMW airbag light does not come on, the airbag light bulb may have been removed or covered. I purchased an '05 Z4 3.0 for my wife for Christmas from an Acura dealer in NJ. Checked everything on the lot - seemed to be working fine. Raised and lowered the top 3x over 2 visits. Put it in the driveway this morning, and wanted to show off the red interior, but the automatic top wouldn't retract! I took it to the dealer, and they were nice enough to replace it as "Courtesy". However upon investigation, he noticed my right front corner marker was out, he replaced the bulb but they are still not working. I have recently purchased a 2011 Z4 which has an issue with the boot not opening, roof not working and constant pinging and red light on the open roof button. I’ve managed to open the boot via the trip method on the wiring loom, but am still at a loss on how to open the boot and the roof. I have a 2003 BMX x5 3.0i, not a 2006 I turned off my car and the interior lights stay on. The only way to keep the lights off is to manually click the light panel on the roof. I was just wondering what the issue could be that would make the lights stay on. Sorry I can not provide any other info. E2RI3y.
