🎮 Canon 6D Full Frame Or Crop
Still Photo Cropping/Aspect Ratio. Normally with RF or EF lenses, images are captured at the sensor size of approx. 35.9×23.9 mm in full-frame shooting, but in cropped shooting, you can isolate and magnify the center of the image approx. 1.6× ( APS-C size) as if using a telephoto lens, or you can set an aspect ratio as needed before shooting.
SnappyChappie wrote: Hi all, I've often wondered why Canon chose to use it's crop-sensored EOS 60D to adapt to a version for astrophotography - the 60Da - instead of choosing a "full-frame" sensored DSLR, like for instance, the Canon EOS 6D which is meant to be good in low-light situations in terms of lower noise and greater sensistivity compared to the 60D's sensor.
For its budget full-frame mirrorless camera, Canon opted to use the sensor from the 6D Mark II and coupled it with the DIGIC 8, the processor from the 5D Mark IV and also used in the EOS R, Canon
I'm shooting with an Irix 15mm 2.4 and get reasonable results, but also a tonne of noise - which is my biggest reason to want to jump to full frame. Is the low light performance of a full frame compared to a crop really that significant? I'm looking at buying a Canon 6D, as its got a great reputation for handling low light / high ISO scenarios.
Canons crop factor is 1.6x, which is pretty substantial. The improvements in image quality from a full frame will be barely noticeable (if not unnoticeable) to most people, but being 1.6x more zoomed in to the wildlife/bird will be majorly noticeable. Take a look at the newer R10 and R7.
Answer: The three photos were shot on the Hasselblad H6D medium format DSLR, Canon 80D crop sensor DSLR, and Canon 6D full frame DSLR, respectively. Educational, Equipment.
26.2 Megapixel Full Frame Canon CMOS Sensor This is a brand new, Canon-developed Full Frame CMOS sensor. Full frame CMOS sensors offer better image quality compared to smaller APS-C sized sensors, and also eliminate the crop factor so your wide-angle lenses are still wide as can be.
Canon EOS 6D review: Camera controls. The 6D looks very similar to the Canon EOS 60D. It’s virtually the same size and weight but it omits the 60D’s integrated flash and articulated screen
